GeneBio
announces the release of Phenyx version 2.5
Geneva, Switzerland October 4, 2007 - Geneva Bioinformatics (GeneBio) SA
today announced that it has launched a new version of the Phenyx protein
identification and characterization platform that will be first demonstrated
at HUPO 2007 in October. This new release groups together a variety of
enhancements aimed at smoothing the process workflow and facilitating
integration within third-party proteomics pipelines.
Highlight's of Phenyx 2.5 include:
- An updated server-side code to accelerate the searches and to more
efficiently handle large DNA databanks
- Full integration for the Institute of System Biologys Trans
Proteomics Pipeline (TPP/IPP) and Proteome Softwares Scaffold
- Enhanced and secured Web services for seamless management and
integration of Phenyx into any third party proteomics pipeline.
- The development of the Phenyx daemon functionalities to manually
and automatically perform batch submissions from any mass spectrometer,
including pre-processing steps such as data conversion and peak list
filtering
These latest improvements to Phenyx truly raise the bar for proteomics
search engines, said Nasri Nahas, CEO of GeneBio. Recent backend
modifications to the engine give users a more robust and flexible user
experience, while recent integration work improves the relevancy of Phenyx
within the laboratory environment. Taken as a whole, these changes to an
already powerful platform will provide the life science community with an MS
data analysis tool essential to any proteomics pipeline and that is
extremely hard to beat.
Developed in collaboration with the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB),
Phenyx is GeneBios renowned software platform for the identification and
characterization of proteins and peptides from mass spectrometry data,
specifically designed to meet the concurrent demands of high-throughput MS
data analysis and dynamic results assessment while offering a flexible user
experience and an adaptable architecture to help instill confidence in
results assessment. (http://phenyx.vital-it.ch/pwi)
