collaboration and to jointly distribute Melanie


For over two decades the Melanie algorithm and imaging platform for 2-D gel
analysis has undergone constant development. Due to these efforts by the
Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and GeneBio, Melanie is today a recognized
leader in the field of two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE).

In order to expand the reach of the software, Melanie was incorporated into
the ImageMaster 2D Platinum platform in 2003 as its unique gel analysis
backbone and has since been exclusively distributed by GE Healthcare. Always
eager to better serve their respective growing markets, GeneBio and GE
Healthcare have recently agreed to extend their collaboration and to jointly
distribute Melanie, under ImageMaster 2D Platinum for GE Healthcare and
under the original name of �Melanie� for GeneBio.

Therefore we are very pleased to inform you that Melanie is back, with a
current version 6 that offers the possibility to run both classical and
DIGE-based 2-D gel analysis, thus offering to our users a broad usability
